​Refund & Cancellation Policy
Montreal Children’s Theatre (MCT)
Applicable to all programs and camps

1. Introduction
This policy outlines the Montreal Children’s Theatre’s terms and conditions regarding cancellations, payments, and refunds for all theatre classes and camps.
2. General Guidelines

All cancellations must be submitted in writing (email).

Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal, and full payment is required.

Each program has a minimum and maximum enrollment. If minimum enrollment is not met, MCT reserves the right to cancel and issue a full refund less a $75 administrative fee.

Instructor changes may occur without prior notice.
-
MCT is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
3. Payment Policies

All Camp programs must be paid in full upon registration or before the course begins.

All 12 week classes (or less) must be paid in full upon registration or before the course begins.

All 24 week classes may be paid in full on registration or in two installments:

A deposit upon registration of 60% of the total fees (includes a $75 non-refundable administrative fee)

The balance is due by November 15th of the same year. This payment will be withdrawn automatically.

All other programs not listed above must be paid in full upon registration or before the course begins.

NSF’s are subject to a $50 fee.
If alternative payment arrangements are needed, contact the Director (Sandra Holder) of the school to discuss a solution on a discretionary basis.
4. Behavioural Policy
MCT has a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate conduct.

Any student, parent, or guardian who displays disrespect toward staff, students, or property will be dismissed without refund.

MCT reserves the right to temporarily or permanently remove any student whose behaviour jeopardizes safety or disrupts programming.

In cases of serious misconduct (e.g. violence, intimidation, drug/alcohol use), immediate pickup is required and no refunds will be issued.
5. Refund Policy

Camps

Online Courses

Subject to a $75 cancellation fee.
6. COVID-19 & Government Closures
If in-person classes or camps are cancelled due to government-mandated closures (e.g. COVID-19):
-
All programs will resume virtually.
-
If you choose not to participate virtually, a credit equal to your remaining balance will be applied to your account for a future course.
-
We will continue operating online until in-person programming can safely resume.
7. Credits
-
All credits are dollar-for-dollar and may be applied to any term.
-
Discounts offered at registration cannot be combined with credits.
8. Trial Classes
-
New students are eligible for a one-time free trial class, only on the first day of the session.
-
If a student registers after attending the trial, no refund will be issued for cancellation.
9. Summer Camp Specifics
-
Summer Camp runs for 3 weeks, with a limited 2-week option.
-
Due to the specialized staff and materials, no exceptions are made to the refund policy.
-
Camp hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
-
Early drop-off begins at 8:30 AM (unsupervised before this time)
-
Late pick-up available until 4:30 PM with prior notice
-
Aftercare fee: $10 per 15 minutes per child
-
10. Medical Cancellations
-
If withdrawal is due to medical reasons, a physician's note is required.
11. Additional Notes
-
Parents are responsible for ensuring their child attends classes and camp.
-
There are no makeup days for absences.
-
No prorated refunds for missed days due to illness or scheduling conflicts.
